We're a Microsoft Surface Lighthouse School
Minarah College has once again been nominated as a Microsoft Surface Lighthouse School for 2023.
This is in recognition of our commitment to educational transformation to improve learning outcomes for our students and our successful implementation of 21st-century teaching and learning practices at our school.
Our 5-Star Innovation Award, presented to us by 'the educator' in 2022, validated our rapid digital transformation, which occurred in only 18 months.
From Year 5 through to Year 12, we are paperless, our students are provided with a Surface 2-in-1 device which they use to complete their work using a myriad of Microsoft 365 applications. We believe that a high level of computer literacy is vital for student learning and will have a profound effect on our alumni's future prospects. It will greatly benefit them in future tertiary education, and sharpen the skills they will need when entering the workforce in their future.
Our digital transformation has not only benefited our students, but also our teaching staff who have been able to not only utilise technology in their everyday lessons, but in other areas of their work as well. Our staff use PowerApps to quantify their pedagogical practice and Power Automate to collate video footage of their teaching practice for their reflection. Our student achievement is captured and reported to parents via Power BI.
We continue to work on our digital education journey, constantly innovating and adapting new technologies; always working towards the best possible outcomes for our students.
