Mohammed Yakub – Chair
Mr Yakub has taught in both Government and Non-Government Schools. He has 27 years of experience teaching in NSW public High Schools. Mr Yakub has an MEd (UWS), Post Graduate Diploma in Language and Literature, Bachelor of Education, Diploma in Education (USP) and Teachers Certificate. His major research area is in Integrating Technologies Across Curriculum.
As a primary and high school teacher for almost 40 years including in Education Administration as Head of Department and Deputy Principal of a large High School, Mr Yakub brings an informed understanding of Education to the Board. This is so important in helping the Board to understand the educational offering of the College. He has also served the School Board as secretary and has worked with other Schools Board in managing schools and implementing various policies. He has been involved with the Jaycees Chapter and is a member and Patron of LAAI NSW registered charitable organisation.
Sirtaj Hussain – Secretary
Sirtaj has prior Board experience and is a fully qualified CPA member with 20 years of experience in financial management, investment compliance, corporate governance experience, business partnering and strategy. He has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, Institute of Managers & Leaders (IML) and Certified Practising Accountant (CPA). Sirtaj is currently employed in NSW Government as Senior Finance Manager in a strategic business partnering role. His previous experience also includes Finance & Corporate Manager at Volkswagen Australia and Finance & Investment Reporting manager at BNP Paribas, Sydney.
Faizal Aliaz Ajmat – Treasurer
Faizal is an audit partner at DFK Laurence Varnay Chartered Accountants. The firm is a member of DFK International and is based in Sydney CBD. He started his audit career at Price Waterhouse Coopers in 2001 and has been an audit partner since 2011. Faizal is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree together with Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting & Fin Mgmt. He is a registered company Auditor since 2010 as well as a registered Tax Agent since 2008. Faizal is also the current chairman of the DFK Australia & New Zealand (DFK ANZ) Audit Committee. This committee comprises audit partners from various chartered accounting firms within the DFK ANZ Group.
Imam Ali – Deputy Chair(Independent)
Imam has a Master of Arts in Economics (Hons) from Sydney University, a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management from UNSW and a Bachelor of Arts (USP). Besides having skills in Economic Policy Analysis and Corporate and Strategic Planning, Imam is also specialised in Organisation Development, Financial Management and Community Consultation. He has worked as a Research Director with the Reserve Bank of Fiji and as an Economist for the Bank of New Zealand (NZ). Imam has been a senior policy adviser for New Zealand Government and Strategy & Corporate Planning Manager at Parramatta City Council. In addition to being President of I.M.A.N, Wellington and F.I.A. N.Z. Imam has been the Director of Amanah Corporation, NZ.
Mohammed Faheem Shah (Independent)
Faheem has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Auckland and is currently studying for an Executive MBA. He holds various Management, Leadership, and IT-related certifications. Faheem is currently employed as the Chief Information Officer of ABB Australia, part of the ABB Group, a global fortune 500 company. He is a visionary and goal-oriented IS Executive with over 20 years of experience in IT leadership, project management, IT governance, strategic planning, and execution. Faheem has extensive IT knowledge covering infrastructure, security, compliance, ERP/Non-ERP applications and digital technologies. He has exceptional leadership, transformational and collaboration skills, attained from working with diverse groups of professionals on multiple regional and global projects for ABB and previous employers.
Shayum Rahim (Independent)
Shayum graduated with an MBA from Charles Sturt University and has over fifteen years of extensive professional background in IT. Shayum has held leadership and management roles with Oracle and Microsoft and during that time has attained several industry qualifications in business, strategic and people management. He has a strong passion for innovative technology and its impact on corporate and consumer landscapes. As an industry analyst, Shayum has conducted research and written several papers and spoken at various industry events on the effects of digital transformation on the Australian business landscape. He has advised business leaders at companies such as Hitachi, IBM, Microsoft, SAP, EMC on research findings from analysis of technology adoption trends across the Asia Pacific region. Shayum is currently studying for a Master of Cybersecurity at the University of NSW.
Dost Khan (Independent)
Dost is a confident leader with 20 plus years’ skill experience in Senior Leadership & Management, working with Board and Committees with steadfast resolve and personal integrity with an innate ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation. Dost has a solid background in governance, risk management, quality assurance, business resilience, emergency management and organisational performance. Dost has worked in the public sector, private sector, local government, multi-disciplinary international organisations, and not-for-profit organisations. Dost has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course and has qualifications in Quality Auditing, Quality Management for Business Excellence, Executive General Management and Thinking and Planning Strategically.
